AC systems (AC=alternating current) transform via a special high voltage generator to the required high voltage of 5–6 KV.
Via a flexible high voltage cable the ionizers are powered by the generator. Thereby positive and negative ions are generated alternatively, synchronised with the existing network frequency (normally 50 or 60 Hz).
Coupling of the high voltage to the emitter pins via high ohm resistors. All systems are shockproofe – there is no danger to the user if he touches the electrode tips!
These sturdy and low-cost AC-Systems require a working clearance of 20 and 150 mm in order to achieve greatest discharge efficiency.
